I know I am very late to the party with this movie. I have been reading about it's brilliance, & that girl's superior .. well ... everything, for a long time. I somehow expected it to be one of the "mega hyped yet average to very good" class of movies. I overreached :/
What the actual FUCK is everyone talking about? It was a rom com, all the acting was acceptable but the story?? I am bipolar and I had hopes of it being the "accurate portrayal" I had seen typed about it 100 times.
Not only was the bipolar side of it complete bullshit, Hollywood skipping the pesky "true" parts at their best, but the story ... the family, the random looneybin guy dropping by, the "dancing" ... I am sorry but all I have is WTF, over and over. Bradley whatsisface was as I would expect, no depth of course but who knows if anyone is capable of it - judging from this film even Robert deNiro (who is a truly GREAT actor) is -- ordinary.
And that girl. The one that is there every time I look anywhere, if it isn't that dirty slutty half brained kid Miley Cyrus sticking her tongue out it's this girl, the best thing since sliced bread according to seemingly everyone.
She is an improvement on Miley. Shit is an improvement on Miley. But all I can ask, still, is what the actual fuck is EVERYONE talking about??? Another interchangable young actress with NOTHING to make her stand out as better, or unique. I can name 6 young actors without even trying to think, who have more talent and way more individuality that Jennifer Lawrence.
I just do not understand ......
